About the Program

As editorial director of PRWeek, Steve Barrett keeps his finger on the pulse of trends and developments shaping the PR industry and provides content and convening opportunities that help PR pros in their daily work. In this session, Barrett will answer questions, from PRSA Richmond member Chet Wade, about the state of the industry and where it’s projected to move in the coming years. Barrett and Wade will discuss the findings of PRWeek’s second Communications Bellwether Survey (produced in conjunction with Boston University), identify trends from PRWeek’s annual Agency Business Report, share the skills and tools necessary to be successful in PR, talk about the dynamic between communications and marketing, and predict the futures of the CCO position and the PR agency.

Welcoming students as part of Student Connections Month

PR students are invited to attend the October Luncheon free of charge, but are required to register by Sunday, October 27.

As part of Student Connections Month, PRSA Richmond invites chapter members and students to arrive at the luncheon early (11:30 a.m.) for an informal networking event. Students will be collecting business cards; please bring extra to help share your expertise (and contact information!) with our next generation of PR pros.
